You know that song by Christian French that goes “Thank God what I wanted back then isn’t what I have now?”

When Tony (my fiance) and I were looking for our first home last spring, my entire Facebook feed was FULL of people buying beautiful homes. We had all of our ducks in a row, visited 30+ homes, got denied on 3 offers (over-asking, mind you), and left feeling broken-hearted that what got a person a starter home in 2019 did not, in fact, apply to the housing market in 2022.

All I could dream about last year was finding the perfect place. I look back now and sing this Christian French tune with deeper gratitude that I did not get what I thought I wanted.

Today’s episode is for those of you who have ever dreamed of how amazing it would be to try living in someone else’s shoes.
